LorriGoldmanMendez Lorri Goldman-Mendez
Dance Director/Instructor

Miss Lorri brings over 30 years of teaching, choreographing and performing to Bodies in Motion Dance Centre. In that time, Lorri has worked throughout NY and NJ with several dance companies and in musical theater. Her choreography has won numerous awards on the competition circuit , as well as being featured in a music video released on MTV Asia. Lorri attended Mason Gross College of Performing Arts, Middlesex County High School of Performing Arts, and has trained and continues to study in leading studios in New York. Miss Lorri is a member of Dance Educators of America and Associated Dance Teachers of NJ and currently serves on the board of directors for A.D.T. of NJ, She acted as Treasurer for seven years and recently elected by her peers to be President of this highly regarded organization. Lorri has also studied with the Royal Academy of Dance in their teachers certification program. R.A.D. is an internationally recognized training school for ballet.

Miss Gabrielle, A graduate os UArts in Philadelphia, PA, holds a BFA with honors in Jazz Dance Performace.  Her studies led her to a love and intensive study of tap, musical theatre, and comtemporary with a very serious focus on making dance and telling stories.  She has been a dance educator at the Kathryn Barnett School of Dance for over ten years, and her choreography has graced stages from philadelphia to Orlando to Carnegie Hall in NYC. This spring, Gabrielle had the opportunity to perform in the Carnival Parade in Sao Paolo, Brazil, with the Samba school Mocidade Alegre upon invitation from famed Brazilian tap dancer Christiane Matallo.  She performs with Uniting Colleges Through Tap under the direction of Corinne Karon, based out of Philadelphia, alongside members of Tap Team Two and Men on Tap.  Gabrielle is also part of the UCTT touring company, performing and sharing the art and history of tap throughout the year.

Miss Jessica began her dance studies at Bodies in Motion, where she graduated as a member of the Interia Dance Troupe.  While on the performance troupe, she studied various genres and danced at several venues throughout New Jersey and the surrounding area.  Throughout high school she also performed with the Woodbridge High School Choirs and was Dance Captain of their Show Choir.  Recently she has been seen performing as a memeber of the Stockton Dance Company at Stockton University.  During her time at Stockton she performed works choreographed by Andrea Miller, the Artistic Director of Gallim Dance and Meredith Rainey.  She was also seen orginating a character in Ahab: A Muciscal Odyssey during its premier in November 2015 under the direction of Henry Van Kuiken and its author Bud Nobel.  She has completed the Fundamentals of Teaching Workshop with the Associated Dance Teachers of New Jersey.  In addition to technique studies in dance, she has also worked on the arts administrative side of things.  She attended the Jersey Tap Fest in both 2015 & 2016 on full scholarship as an intern and during the summer of 2016 interned with Gallim Dance as a member of their Education and Outreach Department.   Today she is a student at Rutgers University where she plans to finish her Bachelors Degree for dance.  She is also a current company member of Clash Tap Dance under the direction of one of her former teachers Ashley Clack.  Jessica is excited to teach her students to love dance in the same rooms where she discovered that she did.

Miss Carolyn, an award winning master teacher and choreographer, who celebrates over 25 years of dance education, was trained by the Manhattan Ballet School, as well as with prima ballerinas, Elfrieda Merman and Dorothea Melvin. She holds a BA in Sociology and Musical Theatre from Wagner College, and an MSW in Clinical Social Work from Fordham University. Her clinical practice, and her teaching style specializes in children, helping them to grow in their abilities and self esteem. She is a member of Dance Educators of America and Associated Dance Teachers of NJ, and has trained with the Royal Academy of Dance, participating in their teacher certification program. She continues to train, teach, and choreograph throughout the New York/New Jersey area. She is thrilled to working with Miss Lorri, who has been a wonderful support to her over the years, and shares her love and values of dance.

Miss Christina graduated from Marymount Manhattan College with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts.  At Marymount, under the direction of Katie Langan, she had the pleasure to work and perform with many artists including Robert Battle, David Parsons, Kate Weare, Merce Cunningham among others.  She trained extensively with the pre-professional company New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble from the ages of 9-18.  NJDTE offered her wonderful opportunities such as to dance at the Metropolitan Opera House in Lincoln Center with the Kirov ballet in their revival of Sleeping Beauty.  Under the direction of Nancy Turano, Christina also has worked with Jason McDole, Miki Orihara, Alessandra Prosperi, Elisa Clark among many others. Christina has been a guest teacher at several studios around the metropolitan area and is pleased to be teaching at Bodies in Motion Dance Centre! Christina is also a former member of Roschman Dance Company and current member of Bryn Cohn and Artists.

Alex began dancing at the age of 17 under the guidance of his mentor, Eric Samson, and has been trained in various foundational styles of Hip-Hop, including b-boying, popping, locking, vogue, and house; as well as industry styles and freestyle. He has also earned his Bachelor's degree in Communication from Rutgers University, along with a minor in Psychology. A core member of Beat Club Crew, Alex has performed with various artists such as Nikki Minaj, Chris Brown, and Vita Chambers. Most recently, you could catch him dancing in the latest season of Fox Television's hit T.V. series: Glee. In addition to these accomplishments, he and his crew continue to give back to the community through various charity shows for lupus, cancer, and cultural functions. When it comes to teaching his craft, Alex works not only to teach dance moves, but to create a fun and safe environment for his students to enjoy; fostering teamwork, confidence, and positivity.

Miss Robin comes to Bodies In Motion with over 30 years of experience in teaching dance, and continues to instruct at several studios throughout NJ. She is trained and certified by Dance Educators of America, as well as Associated Dance Teachers of NJ, and also continues her training in NYC , at various workshops and annual conventions. Robin is the former Assistant Artistic Director of the Westfield School of Dance and the Westfield Dance Company. She has won numerous awardsfor her choreography on both the regional and national levels of competition. Her students have gone on to star on Broadway, perform on cruise ships, at Disney World and with the world famous Rockettes. Miss Robin brings her love of dance and positive energy to Bodies In Motion and is excited to share her passion for dance.

Miss Gabrielle has been dancing with Bodies in Motion Dance Centre since the age of ten.  Miss Lori knew from the moment Gabrielle stepped into her first recreational hip hop class that she was meant to be a ballerina.  She spent six years at the studio as a troupe member who devoted countless hours towards expanding upon her technical skills.  Beyond Bodies in Motion, Gabrielle has furthered her dance education through the Red Bank Regional High School Dance Department, where she worked closely with fellow staff memebr Gabrielle Barnett and other local choreographers and instructors.  Gabrielle joined the New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble, a prestigious pre-professional dance company under the direction of Nancy Turano of Ballet Hispanico, her junior year of high school.  There she advanced in ballet and modern technique classes while working with several professional choreographers.  Gabrielle is currently a sophmore at Stockton University majoring in Hospitality and Tourism Management with a minor in dance.  She holds a captain position on her school's competetive collegiate dance team.  Although Gabrielle has chosen to study Hospitality and Tourism Management and forfeit a professional dance career, dance is still her passion and she looks forward to instlling a passion for dance, movement, and creativity within each of her students.
